Andino is our platonic ideal of coffee. Notes of dark cocoa, brown butter, and sweet cherry express in different arrangements depending on the brew method. This foundational coffee in our program is about versatility in both the farmers' economic sustainability and the flavors in the cup.
Over the years, Andino Leal evolved and become a mainstay in Merit’s repertoire. Since the beginning of this brand, we have committed to producers in Huila and wanted to pay them a consistent, fixed, and fair price in local currency to maintain consistency in what we pay so we could keep our purchasing indefinitely.
Through our travels and search for the perfect partners to execute this mission, we found the Condor Huila Project with Forest Coffee. This project sources and supports 98 women producers in the Huila region. With a strict fermentation and quality control process they are able to achieve an amazing profile that is replicable year-round. We are proud to be "Leal" (loyal) to this project and hope to find others like it throughout the world in our sourcing journey.
